The westerly portion of Cape Cod adjacent to the Cape Cod Canal and Buzzards Bay and includes the gateway to the Cape; namely, the few southeasterly Massachusetts towns and county adjacent to the Canal and the Bay. For late arrivals to the Cape or during peak occupancy time, a good deal of the flavor of the Cape can be gleaned nearby. This area includes the tourist areas around Plymouth, MA where the Pilgrims landed in 1620. Sandwich Falmouth and Woods Hole are in this popular tourism region. |
